Rev. Alexander Danso Ohemeng was born on 8th July 1976. He was led to Christ by his mother at the age of 13yrs and he has since not looked back. He is a Ghanaian by nationality. He attended Winneba Secondary School from 1989-1994 for his West Africa Examination Council Ordinary Level Certificate. Through a Distance Education program from 1998 – 2000 he obtained a Diploma in Journalism. He was admitted as a mature student to Maranatha University College, Accra to study for a Bachelor of Arts in Theology in 2006 and graduated in 2010 as the Valedictorian and recipient of the John and Violet Bergen Scholarship award for that year.
He served as a Pastoral intern (2008 -2011) at Korle Bu Community Chapel (KBCC) and as Interim Missions Coordinator (2011 – 2014) He also served from 2009 – 2014 as the Church’s representative at the Local Council of Churches, Mamprobi/Chorchor zone. He is a family life educator and he was ordained into Pastoral Ministry in October 2014. With great help from others he planted the Lakeside Community Chapel (LCC) in 2012. He formally became its first Resident Pastor in 2014.
Rev. Alexander D. Ohemeng studied at Trinity Theological Seminary, Legon from 2016 – 2018 for a Master of Theology, Pastoral Care and Counselling. His thesis focus was on Palliative Care and the Search for a Resolute Hope: The Church’s Response to Spiritual Care. He also studied other courses of profound value to both his life and ministry:
Rev. Ohemeng is married to Dr. Mrs. Agartha N. Ohemeng. They are blessed with two children Nhyira and Aseda. During the 2022 Easter convention for the Ghana Evangelical Convention (GEC), he was confirmed as the President of the GEC. To God be the glory for greater things we trust He is yet to do with mortal men like us. As Head of the GEC, his vision is to have Gospel-Centered Churches, Deliberate Discipleship and Holistic Ministry.
